An original costume worn in the production of the 1970's BBC science fiction television series Doctor Who.
This costume was worn by actor Reg Turner who played a ''Chlorian Guard" and was seen on-screen in the 1979 story 'Creature from the Pit' starring Tom Baker as the Doctor.
The green gunge on the front of the costume is from Erato, the Creature from the Pit.
It remains in a good production used condition with some of the interior foam padding having deteriorated and no longer present. It still retains its original Bonhams tag as seen in the photos.
The Creature from the Pit is the third serial of the 17th season of the British science fiction television series Doctor Who, which was first broadcast in four weekly parts on BBC1 from 27 October to 17 November 1979. It is the first serial made to feature David Brierley as the voice of K9.
The serial is set on the planet Chloris. In the serial, Lady Adrasta (Myra Frances) imprisons the Tythonian ambassador Erato in a pit for fifteen years in order to maintain her control over the planet's limited metal supply. The alien time traveller the Fourth Doctor (Tom Baker) attempts to negotiate peace and a trade agreement with Erato.
