An original rubber stunt Mauser pistol used in the production of the 2011 Guy Ritchie’s action adventure Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows.
A pistol like this was used by Robert Downey Jr as Sherlock Holmes as he gets roped into a gunfight with renowned assassin Sebastian Moran (Paul Anderson) within the bowels of the Meinhard weapons factory. Sherlock Holmes is seen taking his pistol from a wooden box where other pistols like this one are stored.
This pistol is made of hard rubber for stunt use or for when a hero working example of the Mauser pistol was not required, the pistol is a very high quality casting from a real C96 pistol and features all of the weapon’s original stampings and markings, with the weapon’s safety, hammer and top sight detailing coming through. The hammer, sights and breech are finished in silver paint while the pistol grip is finished in brown to replicate the look of wood, and the pistol’s main body, trigger and barrel are finished in black. The hammer has a moving action so to give the impression of the gun being cocked.
It remains in a good production used condition with additional wear from use.
Pistol measures approx 11.5" long x 6" tall.
