An original metal Death Star section used in the 1983 sci-fi classic film Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.
This section is acid etched brass that was custom-made for use on the miniature Death Star that is seen under construction. The etched brass sections were layered and attached to the model to represent the exposed interior structure of the Death Star that gave the model a very realistic unfinished appearance on screen.
It remains in a good production used condition, exhibiting production wear, handling and age.
The section measures at approx 3.5 cm x 3 cm and has been displayed in a frame measuring at approx 9.5in by 9.5in.
Star Wars Return of the Jedi is a space action film written and directed by George Lucas.
It had a budget of $32.5 Million and reached a very impressive $572 Million in the box office worldwide.
It won a BAFTA for best special visual effects, a Saturn Award for best science fiction film, best actor, best costumes, best special effects and best make-up and in 2015 a Guinness World Record for highest box-office gross for a screenwriter, alongside many nominations.
