An original screen used stop motion Darwin "as Hobo" puppet featured in the award nominated film The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists.
After leaning that Queen Victoria was planning to serve up the Dodo to impress her fellow diners at a rare creatures dining club, Darwin takes to the streets to wallow as a vagrant. After breaking the news to the Pirate Captain they depart on a mission to rescue the Dodo.
He can be clearly seen in this attire, complete with the synthetic snow from when he was peddling the airship.
The outfit has been created from foam latex, with the exception of his hat which is made from resin. His skin is silicon with a small amount of plasticine around his eyes and eyebrows, so to allow the puppeters to change his expression.
He is entirly posable via the intricate internal steel skeleton, and also features an interchangable mouthpiece made from 'Rapid Prototyped' resin. The mouthpiece is attached with a small magnet and has the reference 'old mouth' handwritten on the inside.
He measures at approx 12.5" tall, including the stand, and the stand base measures at approx 5.25" x 4.75" around the base.
He is in an excellent production used condition, with minimal excess wear from use.
The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists is a 3D stop motion film produced by the renound Aardman Animations, who were responsible for the well loved Wallace and Gromit.
Darwin's character was voiced by the previous Doctor Who star David Tennant.
It had a budget of $55 million and reaped in an impressive $123 million at the box office, and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature in 2013.
