This is an original production-made miniature figure of Mike Teavee (portrayed by Jordan Fry), created for Tim Burton’s 2005 film Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
This miniature figure of Mike was used for the scene in which he becomes incredibly small. The figure could have been used in several ways, such as a lighting stand-in or for camera testing purposes, etc.
Cast in unpainted resin with rubber shoes, the figure measures approximately 8 inches by 4.5 inches. It remains in good overall condition, exhibiting only minimal wear consistent with production use.
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is a 2005 musical fantasy film directed by Tim Burton and written by John August, adapted from Roald Dahl’s beloved 1964 novel. The film stars Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka and Freddie Highmore as Charlie Bucket, alongside David Kelly, Helena Bonham Carter, Noah Taylor, Missi Pyle, James Fox, Deep Roy, and Christopher Lee. The story follows young Charlie, who wins a once-in-a-lifetime tour of Wonka’s mysterious chocolate factory, joined by four other children from around the world.
A commercial success, the film grossed over US$475 million worldwide, making it the eighth-highest-grossing film of 2005. It received an Academy Award nomination for Best Costume Design and remains both the highest-grossing adaptation of a Roald Dahl novel and one of Tim Burton’s most successful films.
