An original pair of production-made miniature shoes created for Tim Burton’s 2005 musical fantasy film Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

These shoes were fabricated specifically for the miniature figure of Mike Teavee, portrayed by Jordan Fry, used in the sequence in which the character is shrunk to an extremely small size. Miniature figures such as this were utilized during production for a variety of practical purposes, including lighting stand-ins, scale reference, camera testing, and other visual effects preparations integral to the film’s storytelling.

The shoes are constructed from molded rubber and measure approximately 1.5 inches in length by 0.5 inches in width.

They remain in good overall condition, exhibiting only minimal wear consistent with production use.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is a 2005 musical fantasy film directed by Tim Burton and written by John August, adapted from Roald Dahl’s beloved 1964 novel. The film stars Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka and Freddie Highmore as Charlie Bucket, alongside David Kelly, Helena Bonham Carter, Noah Taylor, Missi Pyle, James Fox, Deep Roy, and Christopher Lee. The story follows young Charlie, who wins a once-in-a-lifetime tour of Wonka’s mysterious chocolate factory, joined by four other children from around the world.

A commercial success, the film grossed over US$475 million worldwide, making it the eighth-highest-grossing film of 2005. It received an Academy Award nomination for Best Costume Design and remains both the highest-grossing adaptation of a Roald Dahl novel and one of Tim Burton’s most successful films.
