An original Coraline paint test maquette made for the production of Henry Selick’s 2009 stop-motion film Coraline.
A young girl finds a secret world that appears to be an idealized version of her own world. This perfect world begins to unravel as Coraline discovers its dark secrets. Produced by the innovative stop-motion production company Laika Studios.
This test maquette is constructed of cast resin, expertly studio hand painted and measuring approx. 3 x 2 x 1.75 in. Cast from the original paint test sculptures of Coraline's puppet head, and used for color reference and character development. Exhibiting production wear, handling and age. In very good condition.
Coraline is a 3D stop motion film based on Neil Gaiman's 2002 novel of the same name.
It cost a modist $60 million to make but pulled in an impressive $124.6 million at the box office.
It was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, and won two Annie Awards for Best Character Design and Best Production Design in a Feature Production.
