An original production-made Hawkman sword created for the 1980 cult classic Flash Gordon. These distinctive swords can be seen carried by the Hawkmen throughout the film, making them instantly recognisable pieces from one of cinema's most celebrated space fantasy adventures.

Constructed from fiberglass, the sword features an elegant, stylised blade with a striking black and gold finish. The hilt is particularly noteworthy, adorned with a sculpted hawk claw motif gripping the pommel, reflecting the iconic avian design aesthetic associated with Prince Vultan's airborne warriors. This example was produced as a spare for use during filming, representing an authentic piece of production history from the set.

The prop measures approximately 29.75 inches in length, with the hilt spanning 7 inches at its widest point. It remains in good production-used condition, displaying expected signs of handling and age consistent with its use, and the fiberglass blade has a visible chip to the centre edge near the tip. The piece has been sympathetically restored post-production, with careful repainting undertaken to return it as closely as possible to its original on-screen appearance.
