An original miniature house used in the 1996 stop-motion animation film James and the Giant Peach.
Produced by Tim Burton and directed by Henry Selick, who had previously collaborated on The Nightmare Before Christmas.
This house was made for the scene where the giant peach rolls down the hill on it's way to the ocean.
Constructed of plywood with composite surfacing and interior gels for lighting effects (lighting not present) for the animated sequences of James and the Giant Peach.
This houes measures 3.5in x 3.5in x 5in
It remains in a good production used condition with some additional wear from use.
James and the Giant Peach was a British/American film based on a 1961 novel by Roald Dahl of the same name.
It had a budget of $38 Million but only grossed $28.90 Million in the box office. However it still kept a faithful rendition of the book.
It was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Music and won a Kansas City Film Critics Circle Awards, Annecy International Animated Film Festival and Dallas–Fort Worth Film Critics Association for Best Animated Film.
