An original screen used Holoship costume and badge worn in the production of the 1992 BBC science fiction television series Red Dwarf.
 
This elaborate red and gold outfit was worn by Commander Nirvanah Crane (Jane Horrocks) in the series 5 episode ‘Holoship’.
 
Inside the costume is a sewn-in label with the name 'Jane, Red Dwarf' handwritten in pen.
 
The costume is made from a crushed red velvet material with a two-tone gold and red fabric front.
 
The badge is constructed from wood, resin, and perspex with a holographic center section and pin affixed to the rear. It measures approx 3.25in x 2.75in at its widest points.
 
Both remain in good production used condition with additional wear from use.
 
Red Dwarf is a British science fiction comedy series that aired on BBC Two between 1988 and 1999, and on Dave since 2009, gaining a cult following. To date, eleven full series of the show have aired, plus one "special" miniseries. The most recent, Red Dwarf XII, started airing in October 2017.
 
The series was created by Rob Grant and Doug Naylor. In addition to the television episodes, there are four novels, a radio version adapted from the audiobooks, two pilot episodes for an American version of the show, tie-in books, magazines, and other merchandise.
