An original Rebel Ceremonial uniform worn in the 1977 sci-fi classic film Star Wars: A New Hope.
These uniforms were worn by member's of the Rebel Alliance during the film's closing scene in which Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) presides over an award ceremony for the heroes who destroyed the Death Star.
Made from a vintage Khaki green wool, the jacket has a short collar, button front closure, 2-chest flap pockets, 2-hip flap pockets, fabric epaulettes, and large back vent. The pair of matching trousers have a button front closure.
Both jacket and trousers retain their original internal M. Berman Ltd. labels. The jacket has had some alterations mainly to the collar and all the buttons have been removed including the ones for holding the shoulder straps down, these alterations were done so this costume could be used in a subsequent production.
It remains in a good production used condition, exhibiting production wear, handling and age.
