This is an original screen-used Police Costume Codpiece with Hose and Housing Assembly from the production of Luc Besson's iconic 1997 science-fiction action film, The Fifth Element.
This distinctive costume component formed part of the futuristic police uniform worn by members of the film's police force and features a moulded codpiece connected via flexible ribbed hoses to a futuristic housing assembly. The interior of the codpiece is hand-marked with the letter "S", a production identifier applied during filming.
The codpiece is constructed from vac-formed plastic, while the housing is fabricated from rubber and a variety of mixed materials, including resin and production-made mechanical detailing.
