This is an original Mangalore animatronic underskull created for use in Luc Besson’s iconic 1997 science fiction action film The Fifth Element. Designed as part of the practical effects used to bring the film’s alien mercenaries to life, this piece represents a rare and highly distinctive artifact from one of the most visually inventive sci-fi productions of the 1990s.
 
Constructed from a durable fibreglass support structure, the under-skull features integrated mechanical components and hinged teeth, allowing for expressive movement when fitted beneath the creature’s outer facial prosthetics.
