An original SFX Police Officer dummy head created for the production of Luc Besson’s iconic 1997 science-fiction action film, The Fifth Element.

The head was produced specifically for the target dummy/mannequin dressed as a police officer, featured during Zorg’s demonstration of the ZF-1 weapon to the Mangalores, shortly before he attempts to sell them the weapons in exchange for the elemental stones.

Constructed from solid foam, the head features a flesh-toned painted finish to the front of the face, with a blue-painted rear. The piece retains much of its original production paintwork, with areas of exposed foam, paint loss, cracking and surface distressing throughout.

It is uncertain whether this particular head was screen-used, as it is possible that several heads were produced for the sequence. However, this example does show evidence of small holes around the chin area, along with burn marks and other signs of wear, consistent with the type of battering the dummy sustains on screen.

Dimensions: Approximately 11 x 6 x 8.75 inches.

The piece remains in good overall production condition, displaying considerable character through its accumulated wear, paint deterioration and surface damage. These features are consistent with its original production use, alongside age-related handling and storage.

Set in the 23rd century, The Fifth Element follows former special forces major turned taxi driver Korben Dallas (Bruce Willis), who becomes humanity’s unlikely hero after encountering Leeloo, a mysterious being whose existence holds the key to defeating an ancient cosmic evil. Celebrated for its visionary production design, imaginative costumes by Jean Paul Gaultier and groundbreaking visual effects, the film has become one of the most influential and beloved science-fiction classics of modern cinema.
