This original stunt dummy Mangalore hand was created for the iconic 1997 science-fiction action film The Fifth Element, directed by Luc Besson. Designed for use in practical special effects, this component was most likely part of a full Mangalore stunt dummy utilized during the Fhloston Paradise opera house sequence, a scene known for its extensive action and destructive effects.
Lightweight dummy elements such as this were specifically fabricated for explosive and high-impact stunt work. The hand is constructed from molded foam and finished with detailed texturing to convincingly replicate Mangalore skin. It measures approximately 9 inches by 7.5 inches.
It remains in good overall condition, exhibiting wear consistent with production use.
