An original screen used hero stop motion puppet featured in the award nominated film The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists (2012).

This "Lavinia" puppet can be seen using her feminine charm in order to help convince the Pirate Captain to stay and celebrate! during the animated film.

Her intricately detailed yellow and orange dress has been made entirely from foam latex with wire within the skirt to allow for more realistic movement. Although it would have been alternated during filming, Lavinia’s mouthpiece, made from ‘Rapid Prototyped’ resin, is now firmly attached to her jaw. Both her hair and skin are silicone with plasticine around her eyes and eyelids to allow for her expression to be varied. Due to the fact that we only seen her upper half in this sequence, she has been constructed without legs, although her upper body can be posed and animated via an intricate metal armature located within her torso. This fascinating armature can be seen from underneath her dress, along with a handwritten reference reading ‘Lavinia #2’.

Lavinia is presented on a bespoke display stand and measures approximately 28.5cm (11”) in height, with the stand measuring approximately 17.5 x 17.5cm (6.75 x 6.75”) around the base.

She remains in excellent production used condition.
